A Journey to the K land! Day 4 Part 2 - 5 Feb 2013

After lunch, it was already around 2pm and we took the subway back from Suwon to Yongsan where the famous Dragon Hill Jjimjilbang is. If you are wondering what Jjimjilbang is, it is a gender-segregated bathhouse in Korea. There are women only floors and men only floors and in such areas, its common to see people walking around naked! Plus, you are not supposed to wear anything in the shower area. There are also unisex areas where both males and females can hang out together. From Yongsan subway station, come out from exit 1. After you leave the train station building, turn right and cross the street. You will see Dragon Hill right beside "My Wedding Hall Buffet".

This Dragon Hill is particularly famous because several Korean dramas and variety shows were filmed here.

When we went inside, a lady who can speak English pretty well welcomed us. She explained what to do in Jjimjibang and explained various packages they have. The good thing was she didn't force us to buy anything. She was perfectly fine when we told her that we would just go in and see if there was any extra service we would like to purchase. So we went to the counter and paid our entrance fees of 10,000 Won. If you have 2,000 Won discount coupon for Dragon Hill from the time you bought your T-Money card, you can use it. Then, you will have to pay 8,000 Won for entrance.

After we paid, we were given 2 towels, a set of Jjimjilbang outfit and a locker key with a bar-code reader. We put our shoes in the shoe locker before going up to the ladies only floor. There, we had to *ahem* keep all our stuff in another locker and go to the shower area in our birthday suit! I tried to use the towel to cover up but oh well...

First, we had to take a short shower. Afterwards, the recommended course was steam room, herbal bath, rest on a jade head-rest and a shower. We were supposed to repeat it 3 times for maximum benefits of detoxing and relaxing but I only did 2 times as I wanted to do manicure afterwards :D

Around 7pm, my travel buddy's Korean pen pal came to Dragon Hill to meet us. When we told her we wanted to see outdoor ice-skating rink, she brought us to City Hall. In Boys Over Flowers Episode 16, Yi Jung brought Ga-eul on a fake date so that Jun Pyo and Jandi would have a chance to make up while spying on them. During that fake date, Yi-Jung and Ga-eul were ice-skating at the rink that we wanted to see at City Hall. Sadly, there was no more ice-skating rink!!!!!! They had started dismantling it already :(

Sadly for us, we only saw the rink with yellow barricades :(

As we were quite hungry and cold, we decided to have porridge for dinner in the City Hall area.

This nice unni knew that I was crazy about Kim Hyun Joong so she got me a present! So sweet of her!

Unni also treated us dinner so we felt quite bad and asked her to join us for dessert in Myeong Dong.

We had some drinks and chatted for a while. Then we walked unni to the Euljiro-1-ga station before heading back to our place to rest. I was having runny nose and quite bad sore throat T-T
