walk straight for about 10-15 min from Exit 2 or Exit 3 of Euljiro-1-ga station
Part of Berlin Wall
Probably to provide hope for the reunification of the Korean peninsula?
After the Berlin Wall, you will see a bridge and a stream underneath it.
Personally, I thought it looked more beautiful in summer and autumn as there are more colors than just brown! Nonetheless, it is such a relaxing place to be, esp in the middle of a bustling city!
As we walked along the stream, we took some photos (;
We are getting closer to the start of the stream - Cheonggye Plaza.
At the Cheonggye Plaza!
The Cheonggye Plaza and the Gwanhwamun Square are right next to each other. You just have to cross a road. As we continued there, the wind became much stronger and we were shivering. Surprisingly, there were several girls wearing see-through stockings in a such a chilly weather with temperatures dropping below the 0 degree Celsius!
Statue of the Admiral Yi Sun Shin
King Sejong who created the Hangeul - the Korean alphabet
Our next destination - Gyeongbokgung Palace - is located just across the street from the Gwanhwamun Square.
Admirable guards - they really did not move from their position even when people were standing next to them, snapping pictures! Not a laugh or a smile!
Frozen Lake
Banquet Hall which is used to hold important and special state banquets
Can you believe that this is a view in the middle of a metropolitan city?
The tallest structure in the background was the National Folk Museum of Korea. You don't have to pay a separate entrance fees as this is already included in the 3,000 Won fees paid to enter the Gyeongbokgung Palace compound. But the museum closes at 4:30pm in winter so we didn't get to go in :(
In front of a comic bookstore from Seoul of a few decades ago
If you are a fan of Family Outing, you will know why I chose to take a picture here.
In all their episodes, the Family members will prepare their meals outside the house and this is exactly like the place they sat and prepared the meals!
We left Gyeonbokgung Palace around 5pm and walked towards the Bukchon Hanok village where K-drama Personal Taste (starring Lee Minho) was filmed.
Stay tuned!
Adios!
xoxo
