Travelling.

Travelling.
Travelling leaves you speechless. Then turn you into a storyteller. Hope I have been a good one ^.^

Travelogue to Guangzhou - Exhibition days (March 2016)

Despite the proximity of Myanmar to China, I had never been to the world's most populous country till now. There are 3 huge dental exhibitions a year in China, held at the nation's 3 biggest cities, namely Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.  Given the availability of direct flight from Yangon as well as Guangzhou's not so harsh temperatures in March, I and my dad attended 2016 Dental South China Exhibition held at the capital of Guangdong province.

The event was put up at the Pazhou Complex on metro line 8. Given how there was nothing in the proximity of the exhibition complex (except hotels), we chose to stay in town and travel to the fairground by metro.  It is honestly the best option to travel during trade fairs as taxis tend to overcharge you (up to 3 times the metered fare) and you might be wasting your time in traffic jam.

Here are the few shots from the fair.

Our exhibition routine means we would be up and out of hotel by 8-815am, have breakfast near our accommodation, take metro to the fairground, spend the whole day there (including such bland-tasting lunch), commute back to hotel with train by 5pm to avoid peak hour crowd, sort out our purchases in hotel, have dinner in the vicinity, enjoy much-needed foot massage, shower and call it a day.

One word: Exhausting.

I always felt a bit of jealousy when people mentioned they travel a lot of work.  But now, I am singing a different tune. Honestly, such grueling schedule was challenging for me.  My stamina might be different if the fair exhibition is about shoes or fashion? :D

Anyway, our hotel was pretty good for the purpose of our journey.
+ Clean room
+ Free WIFI
+ 2-3 min walk to West Tiyu Road metro station (just 7 stations away from
Pazhou Complex)
+ Shopping centres, several eatries, pastry shops, convenience stores  and foot massage places nearby
- Construction site next to hotel
- No taxi stand so it might be quite tough to load and unload your bags from taxi

I will share about our R&R in my next post.

Adios!
xoxo
