Travelling leaves you speechless. Then turn you into a storyteller. Hope I have been a good one ^.^

USA Trip Day 29 - 2 Oct 2014 - Across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito

What a whirlwind voyage it had been! We took it slow today, and left home around 10am to visit Mister's late grandfather. After stopping by to get a bouquet of flowers, Uncle drove us to cemetery, where we paid our respect to the deceased.

After a brief stop at Target, we took a spin to Mountain View's Castro Street around noon for lunch. It's a lovely area with diverse options of restaurants, to spoil you for choice.

 Mountain View's Castro Street

Isn't it a delightful place to enjoy lunch al fresco

Our choice venue for the day was Blue Line for some pizza and pasta.

Fun Fact: Mountain View is home to several Silicon Valley giants like Google, Microsoft and Linked In.

After lunch, kind Uncle brought us to Sausalito via the Golden Gate Bridge. I was just delighted to be travelling through such an iconic landmark :D

There is a walkway open for us by both pedestrians and cyclists

After about 10 minutes there, we continued onto Sausalito town proper, which is about 15 min drive away. Despite being a small town, Sausalito is popular with tourists and locals, out on day trips from San Francisco. So Uncle said we were damn lucky to have found a parking lot, just a short distance away from the town centre!

Quaint, little, charming town

Tempting storefronts calling out to me

But to my credit, I displayed extreme patience and walked away with just a couple of souvenirs!

Alternative way to reach to Sausalito - take a 30-min ferry ride from San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf

Taking turns to show our big round faces :D

 Yacht Harbor

While there was nothing much to do in this picturesque hillside community, that was the whole point of visiting here. It was to take it slow and get away from the hectic city life of San Francisco.

 Beautiful 6pm sky

After more than an hour of exploring, we headed back to the city for dinner. Although Uncle offered to bring us to Chinese place for the meal (remember our agreement of 1 Western and 1 Asian meal everyday?), we requested him if he could stop by Chipotle. Stunned would be an understatement of his reaction as he couldn't understand why we would like it:D Anyway, we bought takeaway rice bowl with chips and salsa for supper.

Time to start packing!

Adios!
