Travelling.
Travelling leaves you speechless. Then turn you into a storyteller. Hope I have been a good one ^.^

USA Trip Day 19 - 22 Sep 2014 - Harvard Area

From TD Garden, we took Orange T to Downtown Cross, transferred to Red T and ended up at the Harvard Station.

First Parish in Cambridge with 400 years of history
Its congregation honors the spiritual diversity in the Unitarian Universalist tradition.
Cambridge,1 is actually a pretty popular lunch place in Harvard Square and they are known for their charcoal-grilled thin crust pizzas.  To avoid long line, we purposely chose this place for our extremely late lunch around 4 pm. (Thanks to our 10-11am brunch.) I must say both pasta and pizza were delectable and we polished off our plates within a matter of minutes.

We then headed inside the illustrious Harvard Campus. The weather was just nice to sit out and do assignments or hold discussions. How amazing it would be if we can do similar activities in NUS Campus in Singapore! Oh well, we all wish for what we can't get yeah. I am sure Harvard students would also love to enjoy sunshine of tropical Singapore. All those colorful chairs definitely add to the bright ambiance too. It helps with overcoming inertia in procrastinating on assignments and projects :D

Harvard Yard

Notice anything out of ordinary about that John Harvard statue? That's right.  The left shoe's coloring was so light compared to the rest of the bronze sculpture, because people kept rubbing his left toe for luck!

Holden Chapel
Completed in 1744, it is the third oldest building at Harvard.

Widener Memorial Library

Memorial Church built in 1932 in honor of the men and women of Harvard University who died in World War I

Harvard Book Store
We even purchased a few books from this beautiful bookstore. As much as I enjoy the convenience of modern world and the Internet, I still find joy in reading physical books (I'm sorry, trees).

Around 7pm, we took Red T to Downtown Cross, strolled along Washington Street, through Boston's Chinatown. After satisfying Italian lunch of pasta and pizza, we both agreed on a light meal for dinner.

Pho Pasteur
682 Washington Street

Boston, MA 02111

Highly acclaimed Pho Pasteur had pretty appetizing Vietnamese Pho (around US$ 8), which we devoured on the rooftop of our Airbnb.  Usually, we couldn't enjoy hot food but given the chilly September temperatures of Boston, we were able to enjoy such comfort food.

After dinner, we had to pack our bags before turning in for the night as we had quite an early morning train to catch to NYC.

Adios!
xoxo
