USA Trip Day 8 - 11 Sep 2014 - Seattle Centre

First of all, I must apologize for not blogging for 7 whole months! 2016 has been such a busy year for me with many trips.  But that means I will have many interesting things to share about!  Trip of the year definitely has to be our 3 weeks trip to Europe. So let's finish this USA 1-month tour and we can move onto 2016 trips ^.^

We started off quite late around 945am and took Link Light Rail from International District to Westlake.  Instead of taking monorail (USD $2.25) from Westlake to Seattle Center, we decided to walk to enjoy breakfast at Seattle's famous Top Pot Doughnuts, located along the way to Seattle Center.

Top Pot Doughnuts
Address: 2124 5th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121
Opening Hours: 6am - 7pm

But if you are not a fan of doughnuts, I suggest to take a monorail as the 30-min walk would tire you out even before embarking on the Seattle Center tour.

Seattle strove to gain world recognition with the 1962 World Fair in celebration of its restored prosperity.  The 605 feet tall Space Needle is now an iconic building of today's Seattle.

Out of many attractions at the Seattle Centre, we picked just two as we would like to take our time and explore each place thoroughly instead of rushing through many attractions. The first one we picked was EMP (Experience Music Project) Museum, as a nod to the city's noteworthy musical talents. Seattle is the birthplace of internationally successful artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Macklemore and Foo Fighters. Fun Fact - this town boosts the highest per capita music and dance attendance in the country.

EMP (Experience Music Project) Museum
Address: 325 5th Avenue N, Seattle, WA 98109
Opening Hours: 10am - 7pm
Entrance Fees: USD $25

Costume from the late Micheal Jackson's famous Thriller MV

Costume from Game of Thrones

 Costume from Matrix

We had so much fun especially at the interactive exhibits like Macklemore's Thrift Shop MV section! Mister even tried his hands at DJ-ing. Guitar Gallery was amazing, Sci Fi movie costume exhibit was cool, Sound Effect Gallery was truly intriguing

The second attraction we explored was the Pacific Science Center with its iMax theater. We loved the iMax show but thought that this place wasn't really meant for adults.  Exhibits were decent but not interesting or informative enough for us.

Pacific Science Center
Address: 200 2nd Avenue N, Seattle, WA 98109
Opening Hours: 10am - 5pm
Entrance Fees: USD $25.75 for Exhibits + Documentary iMax Movie

Outdoor flower sculptures with solar panels to demonstrate the use of solar energy

Just before the start of Madagascar 3D at the Boeing iMax theater

After a lousy lunch at the EMP museum, we wanted to make sure our dinner would be good.  A quick google search recommended us to try a Hong Kong restaurant, located a short 3-min walk away from our AirBnB. My goodness, the food tasted amazing and the portions were huge as usual, we got takeaway boxes to keep leftover food for breakfast the next day.

Adios!
xoxo
